Annotation
The proposed article touches upon one of the topical issues of comparative religious bioethics – organ transplantation. The emphasis in the work is on the acceptability of voluntary organ transplantation from a living donor. In this perspective, the permissibility of this medical event usually finds understanding and support among religious thinkers. However, it should be noted that specific aspects of transplantology, such as presumption of consent, sale of organs, transplantation from a dead donor diagnosed with brain death, deserve special analysis, and, within the framework of this work, are not subject to consideration. If these problems are not taken into account, it is acceptable to offer a generalized view of the branch of medical science under consideration. Among Orthodox theologians, specialists in Islamic law, experts in Halakha and representatives of Buddhist movements, there is a positive attitude towards voluntary organ transplantation.
