THEOLOGICAL STUDIES
Based on the material of the so-called «dispute about Sophia» (20s – 30s of the XX century), the article formulates the problem of the rationalist methodology of Archpriest Sergius Bulgakov. As an illustration of the following method it is proposes analysis of the key points of the kenotic Christology of Fr. Sergius. The author comes to the conclusion that this teaching, as an attempt to build a consistent and understandable Christology, in its method contradicts the main idea of the Christological dogma — the hypostatic unity of the God-man.
The doctrine of the high priestly ministry of Jesus Christ in the material heavenly sanctuary was conditioned by the original antitrinitarianism of the founders of Adventism. In the visions of Elena White, this is emphasized by the different scale of the glory and power of the Father and the Son. Traces of these views have been preserved in the underestimation of the role of the Holy Spirit in the work of our salvation and the not fully resolved question of the sinful nature of Jesus Christ. The doctrine of the heavenly sanctuary has significantly distorted the traditional church teaching about our salvation history, adding to it, in particular, the idea of the Sabbath as the seal of God.

This article is devoted to the description of the experience of compiling a missionary calendar. In its structure, it is divided into Liturgical, public and educational orientation of information. The practical significance of the calendar is that there are more missionary reasons in the public space to share knowledge about the Orthodox tradition, discuss various issues on the topics of calendar events, try to spend holidays in their parishes, Sunday schools, families, friends, businesses and any professional environment.
The article is devoted to the fundamental differences in the understanding of the reform of parish administration adopted by the Russian Orthodox Church under state pressure during the campaign to return to «Leninist norms» in the late 1950s and early 1960s. The adoption of the external forms of the congregational structure of the parish turned into an ecclesiastical and canonical catastrophe due to the difference in understanding and goals of the state and the Church. Based on the study and comparison of various meanings embedded by the ideologically atheistic party and state apparatus on the one hand, and the church hierarchy on the other, it was possible to determine the boundaries of different understanding and goals of the state and the Church. On the basis of the studied documents, it was possible to find out and determine the conclusions about the form and content of the reform, which, due to the difference in meanings and the contradictions that arose, led to a crisis in church parish life.
The missionary activity of representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church on the North American continent during the existence of Russian America (1741–1867) is a vivid example of the successful preaching of the Gospel among peoples who did not know about the Christian faith. The article is devoted to a review of the apostolic works of Russian missionaries in Alaska and the Aleutian Islands, which served not only to acquaint local peoples with the Orthodox faith, but also to form a positive attitude towards the Russian state and the Russian Orthodox Church. The result of the activities of Orthodox missionaries was the creation in Alaska of stable centers of the Orthodox Church, which contributed to the preservation of Russian spiritual culture up to the present day.
