Annotation

The year 2025 marks the centenary of the appointment of Metropolitan Peter (Polyansky) of Krutitsy to the post of Patriarchal Locum Tenens. For a more thorough study of the hierarch’s life path and ministry, it is important to highlight the early pages of his biography. This article presents a description of the ministry of the future holy martyr as the superintendent of Zhirovitsky Theological School in 1896–1906. The main source used is the audit materials of Zhirovitsky School, carried out in 1898 by the auditor of the Educational Committee P. I. Nechaev.
