Annotation
This article presents theses about the human disease as a phenomenon related to the whole of human nature, represented not only by the body, but also by the soul. For a believer, the disease acquires special significance in the light of the New Testament teaching about spiritual perfection. Consideration of the problem of the disease based solely on the representation as a consequence of punishment for sins is overcome by the Orthodox theological tradition. Outside of the Christian perception, the disease is perceived as nonsense.
