Annotation

The article discusses a practical issue related to the way references to the Holy Scriptures are made. Various existing options which are currently used in official publications of the Moscow Patriarchate and other authoritative church publishing houses of the Russian Orthodox Church, are studied. The author comes to the conclusion that two options are currently widespread, one of which is recommended to be followed in written scientific works on theology. At the end of the article there is a table of the full names of biblical books and their abbreviations in Russian and English, which are used today in bib-lical scholarship.
