Annotation
The article is devoted to the emergence and activities of a little-known and extremely small non-canonical religious group known as the “Old Orthodox Church of the Kerzhensky consent”, which claims to be an ideological and historical succession from the Nizhny Novgorod Old Believers, which in fact is a derivative of the liberal and largely reform-ist and non-canonical “Cathedral Orthodox Apostolic Church”. The creation of such a com-munity is a typical challenge to church unity not only for the canonical Orthodox Church, but also for the traditional Old Belief concords that accept the priesthood. Based on the foregoing, we can conclude that this religious organization, despite the presence of state registration, has not become a noticeable phenomenon in the multi-confessional palette of both Russia in general and Nizhny Novgorod region in particular.
