Annotation

The article analyzes the images of the clergy of the Russian provincial clergy of the second half of the 19th century. based on the text of the novel “Soborians” by N. S. Leskov. The genre of the chronicle novel presents the life of the Russian clergy in such detail that it gives the work the significance of an objective historical source. During the narrative, the author shows the special world of people of the clergy, presents a collective image of the clergy.
