Annotation

The subject of the study is interpersonal relationships in the monasteries of the Russian Empire in the XIX century. The purpose of the work is to study the letters and resolutions of Metropolitan Filaret on this topic and introduce the material into research circulation. The paper uses the method of critical analysis of sources, which made it possible to identify the main conflicts and contradictions in monastic society. The causes of their occurrence were also considered and patristic advice was given on how to overcome them.
